What is Farabi Exchange Programme?

The Student and Faculty Member Exchange Programme between Higher Education Institutions, which is called “Farabi Exchange Programme” in short, is an exchange programme for students and faculty members between higher education institutions that provide education at associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels within universities and institutes of high technology.

Farabi Exchange Programme aims to enable students or faculty members to continue their education and training activities in a higher education institution outside their home institution for one or two semesters.

Farabi Exchange Programme is an exchange programme that allows student mobility between universities in Turkey for one semester (Fall Semester only) or one year (Fall + Spring Semester).

The aim of this exchange programme is not only to enable students enrolled in a higher education institution to continue a part of their education in another higher education institution. The main purpose of the programme is to diversify and enrich the knowledge, skills and competencies of our students, to enable them to experience different social and cultural environments and to contribute to the achievement of our students’ career goals. Farabi Exchange Programme develops the individual’s social skills and creates the experience of struggling with difficulties. While establishing a new environment and a new group of friends, there are also significant improvements in communication skills. In addition to the chance to receive education in a different academician and a different school, it enables them to have different knowledge and skills compared to their friends at the university and develops their vision.

YÖK provides scholarships to students participating in the Farabi Exchange Programme. For associate and undergraduate students, they must have completed their first year and have a GPA of at least 2.00/4.00; for master’s and doctoral students, they must have completed their first semester (you cannot apply during the Preparatory and Scientific Preparation periods) and have a GPA of at least 2.50/4.00. As a result, the exchange starts in the 2nd year.
