INTERNSHIP GUIDE – 2025
This guide has been prepared for the students of the Software Engineering Department at Ankara University Faculty of Engineering, with the purpose of organizing the internship rules and ensuring their effective completion.
Internship Guide
Before starting their internship processes, our students are required to read the guide provided here and review the other related documents. All details regarding the internship processes are included in this document. Information about the eligibility of internship sites, internship duration, documents required to initiate the internship, evaluations during and after the internship, and the internship report are explained in detail in the internship guide linked below.
Internship Process
The steps outlined here must be followed to complete the internship processes.
1. Document Submission Process and Internship Application Form
Students who have prepared their internship documents completely,
- They must fill out their information accurately and completely through the Internship Application Form available at this link
- After completing the form, the internship documents must be prepared in 3 (three) copies and submitted to the department secretary in exchange for a signature.
2. Sending an E-Mail After Document Submission
Students who have submitted their documents must send an email to, staj.yazilim.au@gmail.com notifying that the process has been completed (a ready-to-use draft text can be accessed in the Word file via the link below). In this email:
- Student information (Full Name, Student ID Number, Department, etc.)
- Name of the organization where the internship will be conducted and the internship dates
- Confirmation that the documents have been submitted
- All internship documents must be scanned and compiled into a single PDF file (file name: 2025_StudentID_FullName.pdf) and attached to the email.

3. Important Dates and Process Flow
a) Students with a Confirmed Internship Location and Dates:
All documents must be submitted and all procedures completed at least 20 days before the internship start date.
b) Students Whose Internship Location and Dates Are Not Yet Confirmed:
Students in this situation must finalize their internship location and complete all procedures by July July 11 2025, at the latest.
c) Internships Cannot Begin Without the Approval of the Department Internship Committee:
No student can begin an internship without the approval of the Department Internship Committee (DIC). Internships started without approval will be considered invalid. Social Security (SGK) insurance procedures will only be carried out for approved applications. Students will be notified via email for internships approved by the DIC.
d) Internship Documents Checklist:
Before applying for the internship, make sure that all required documents are prepared completely. An internship checklist has been prepared to help you with the preparation process. You can use this document to check the documents you need to submit step by step.
Mandatory Internship Letter
If the workplace where the internship will be conducted requests an official letter regarding the students’ mandatory internship, the document available at the link can be downloaded, printed, and submitted to the internship site.

Internship Report Writing Guide and Template:
The internship report should be prepared to clearly and comprehensively describe the work carried out during the internship in a technical language. The Internship Report Writing Guide and Internship Report Template files provided on this page include the formatting and content rules that must be followed when preparing internship reports. Compliance with the formatting and content rules specified in the template is mandatory for all internship reports.

Internship Evaluation and Grading Criteria:
The grading criteria for the internship course and the evaluation schedule are presented in detail in the document provided below. Students should review this document carefully to ensure they do not encounter any issues during the internship process and to act in accordance with the evaluation criteria.

The Trainee Evaluation Form, which will be filled out by the internship supervisor at the organization, can be downloaded from the link below, printed, and submitted to the internship site.
